'One Piece' Spoilers: What Is Black Maria Up To?

“One Piece” is going to offer more answers on a mysterious personality in the coming chapters.

The latest chapter of the hit manga series “One Piece” offered more questions than answers to the already mysterious personality of one of the members of Tobi Roppo-Black Maria. The previous chapters of the manga seldom mentioned or showed her and her appearances also pointed out that there is more to her than meets the eye. Fans are beyond intrigued to know if Black Maria is truly an enemy of the alliance or a spy working to take down Kaido.

In “One Piece” Chapter 992, Oda showed fans more about Black Maria. This youthful woman with an incredible size by human standards was shown tending to her brothel, which is located just beside Kaido’s mansion in Onigashima. While her comrades are busy fighting the alliance and preventing key personalities from reaching Kaido’s location at the Skull Dome’s roof, Black Maria was at her brothel singing.

Several instances in “One Piece” point out that Black Maria is not the combatant type. When the Tobi Roppo was assigned to look for Yamato, she chose to stay with Kaido instead of completing the captain’s assignment. She also seems compassionate and empathic, particularly when she let Momonosuke rest on her lap after Kanjuro brutally beat him.

Amidst the chaos in Onigashima, it seems that Black Maria prefers to be with some of her subordinates and plays music. In “One Piece” Chapter 992, she was on the castle’s upper floor singing a song. Interestingly, the song is about two people longing to meet each other and finally meeting under the moonlight on a snowy night.

In various “One Piece” forums, some fans believe Black Maria’s decision not to engage in the fight could be because she is working for the alliance. Others think that her song has something to do with the Minks since they transform every full moon. While others hope that she is just a Tobi Roppo member who prefers non-violence.
