'One Tree Hill' Star Bevin Prince’s Husband Dies At 33 After Lightning Strike
"One Tree Hill" star Bevin Prince’s husband named Will Friend died at the age of 33. Prince and Friend's business page, Recess confirmed the news Wednesday on Instagram.
"We greatly appreciate the outpouring of love and support we’ve received from our Recess community," the official page captioned the photo of the couple. "Will’s knowledge, guidance, and support is the foundation that Recess is built on."
They further explained how Prince and Friend started this business and were "building and growing" it together in "their new North Carolina home."
"There was nothing Will respected or valued more than the American Dream, entrepreneurship, and women in business," the statement continued. "We know he wanted to see this business continue to great success and lead to the employment of many more people."
The post further revealed that Friend wanted to create "rewarding and meaningful jobs for others" and keep his legacy going. "Thank you for helping us to honor him in the way that we are certain he would have wanted us to."
The comments section was filled with condolences. "I’m so heartbroken by this! Sending so much love to y’all!" one of the fans wrote while another one added, "Absolutely heartbreaking. Sending all my love."
Friend was struck by lightning near Masonboro Island on July 3, around 3:15 p.m., according to WECT. He was found by the civilians and reported to the Wilmington Police Department’s Marine Unit during a routine patrol.
National Lightning Safety Council's John Jensenius said, "Some people think that there’s some protection just based on a little bit of metal, but really there isn’t when you consider that lightning gets into the metal systems of your boat and you’re very close to those."
"So. really, very little protection, especially if you’re an open boat," Jensenius added.
On the work front, the 39-year-old actress was a regular on the TV series, "One Tree Hill" from 2003 to 2012. She also appeared in a short comedy movie, "It's All About Me" in 2016 and went on to work in TV series like "Sublets," where she played Jessica’s character, and "Power," where she played Sandra’s character.
