OnePlus 3 Rumors: Specifications, Features On Benchmarking Sites Suggest Killer Flagship With 6GB RAM
Reports that OnePlus was to announce its upcoming flagship OnePlus 3 earlier this month failed to take shape. However, the alleged specifications of OnePlus 3 have now surfaced on GFXBench and GeekBench benchmarking sites.
In the previous month, the key specs of OnePlus 3 were spotted on AnTuTu. It carried the model number A3000. Fresh benchmarks have appeared on GFXBench and GeekBench, and indicate that the Chinese firm may roll out the OnePlus 3 in multiple variants.
The A3000 variant is expected to feature a 5-inch full HD display and a Snapdragon 820 SoC. Its internal storage is 64GB. It will be arriving with a 16-megapixel rear camera and a selfie snapper of 8 megapixels. It will arrive preinstalled with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. It also features support for NFC connectivity. These specs are almost in line with the listing of A3000 OnePlus 3 on AnTuTu.
It is interesting to note that the A3000 variant that is codenamed “Rain Rain” on GeekBench is endowed with 6GB of RAM whereas the same model with a codename of “Rain” listed on GFXBench features 4GB of RAM. Hence, speculations suggest that the “Rain Rain” model with 6GB of RAM would be advanced version of “Rain.”
The OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 are phablet devices as they feature 5.5-inch screens. However, the A3000 model seems to house a smaller screen of 5-inch. Hence, other rumors are suggesting that the smartphone that features 5-inch could belong to the successor model of OnePlus X and it will feature 4GB of RAM. Since OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 have 5.5-inch screens, the OnePlus 3 is also likely to sport a 5.5-inch screen and also feature 6GB of RAM.
In an interview to CNET earlier this year, Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, had revealed that OnePlus 3 release date would be set in June. According to Phone Arena, ifeng, a Chinese website, has reported that the OnePlus 3 would be showcased to the world on May 28 and it will be available for purchase by June 6.
