OnePlus is rumored to debut OnePlus 3 on June 14. It will come out to replace the OnePlus 2 from 2015. Here is a comparison of the rumored specifications, features, price and release date of OnePlus 3 with that of OnePlus 2:

Design and Display

One of the recent leaked renders of OnePlus 3 suggests that it resembles the HTC 10 smartphone in appearance. The rear cover of the smartphone has antenna bands on its top and bottom portions. The sandstone-textured design of OnePlus 2 seems to have been replaced by a full metal chassis. The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 2 smartphones featured curved design on their back.

The OnePlus 2 has a 5.5-inch screen that supports full HD resolution. However, its successor is expected to also arrive with a same-sized screen but it is likely to support Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The OnePlus 2 is powered by Snapdragon 810 chipset. Its 16 GB model features 3 GB of RAM and its 64 GB model has 4 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the OnePlus 3 will feature Snapdragon 820 chipset under its hood. It will not feature 16 GB storage model. Its base model will be of 32 GB that will carry 4 GB of RAM. The 64 GB variant of OnePlus 3 will be packed with 6 GB of RAM.

Camera, Software, Other Features

The OnePlus 2 has a rear shooter of 13-megapixel that comes with features like OIS, laser autofocus and dual-LED flash. The 16-megapixel camera of OnePlus 3 is also expected to come with same camera features that are available on its predecessor model. OnePlus 2 has a selfie shooter of 5-megapixel whereas its successor is pegged to come with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

OnePlus 2 is currently running on OxygenOS 3.0 that is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Recently, a screenshot of the OnePlus 3 running on Android N OS modified with OxygenOS 3.1.0 revealed by popular leakster, Evan Blass. OnePlus 2 lacks NFC support, but it successor model is expected to feature it.

Battery, Price and Release Date

According to Blass, the OnePlus 3 will be packed with a 3,000 mAh battery. It is speculated to come with support for fast charging. The predecessor model is also equipped with a battery of same capacity.

The 64 GB OnePlus 2 is now selling at a reduced price of $299. Speculations suggest that OnePlus 3 with 32 GB storage will be priced around $310 and its 64 GB model will be carrying a price tag of around $385.

The OnePlus 2 was announced in July 2015 and it was made available for purchase by August 2015. Rumors indicate that the OnePlus 3 will be announced on June 14 and it will be available for purchase from the same month.
