Open-air funeral for Spain's quake victims
Spain is preparing to hold an open-air funeral mass for the four victims of the two earthquakes which had shaken the southern town of Lorca on Wednesday.
Nine people were killed when another earthquake of magnitude-5.1 struck the town.
Crown Prince Felipe along with his wife Letizia and Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, Spain's prime minister are also attending the funeral. Thousands of people are present at the funeral Mass.
Many historic buildings and homes were destroyed in the earthquake and residents have left their home after the disaster.
Troops and emergency workers have put up hundreds of tents in Lorca for the homeless people which accounts to over 3,000 people.
The funeral mass for the other victims will be held elsewhere in Lorca and not in church as it is regarded unsafe to enter due to the damage caused by the earthquake.
Before the funeral, Crown Prince Felipe and his wife consoled the victim's family and others mourners who were seated in front of four wooden coffins.
Almost every building in the town of about 93,000 residents has been damaged, report says.
This was the most dangerous earthquake in Spain since 1965 which killed 11 people in Albolote, Granada.
