“Orphan Black” lead star Tatiana Maslany recently opened up about the avid fans of the hit BBC America series, the Clone Club.

“I don’t know if I can speak for all of us on this, but it’s not about the awards. It’s about the fact that we are all actors who love our job and get to do a show that we really care about and that has touched people, like the Clone Club. Like when a 40-year-old woman comes up to me and says, ‘Cosima let me finally come out. I’ve known since I was 2 and I can come out now.’ That’s the stuff that actually means something. I think it’s the reason you do your job and we’re so lucky to get to do it,” she said.
“Orphan Black” cast member Maria Doyle Kennedy also revealed that some members of the Clone Club have met in person and are now friends. “To see people unite was really good as well, that was one of the great things,” she said.
Meanwhile, “Orphan Black” Season 5 is down to its final two episodes before the series officially wraps. In the upcoming installment, Sarah (Maslany) will be dealing with the loss of her mom, Mrs. S (Kennedy). While struggling to cope with the latter’s demise, Sarah will also have to go on in search for her sestra, Helena (Maslany).
In episode 9, titled “One Fettered Slave,” Helena is close to giving birth, and being kidnapped could result in her losing her babies. In order to prevent this from happening, Sarah will gather the other Leda clones to help her out. Sarah’s daughter, Kira (Skyler Wexler), will also play a huge role in tracking her aunt down before anything bad could happen to her.
“Orphan Black” Season 5, episode 9 will air on BBC America on Saturday at 10 p.m. EDT.
