‘Outlander’ Season 1 Spoilers: Synopsis For Episodes 9 – 13 Released; Jamie And Claire Will Face More Trouble
The midseason premiere of “Outlander” Season 1 is less than a month away, and we already know what will happen in the first five episodes. There are synopses available for episodes 9 through 13, SpoilerTV reports, and it looks like Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are headed for trouble.
Season 1, Episode 9 – 'The Reckoning'
“Jamie and the Highlanders rescue Claire from Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies),” the synopsis reads. OK, we expected Jamie to save Claire. After all, he burst through the window in the episode 8 cliff-hanger. However, it seems Jamie brought plenty of backup. Expect the Highlanders to be with him.
Season 1, Episode 10 – 'By The Pricking Of My Thumb'
Jamie will try to clear his name in episode 10. “Jamie hopes the Duke of Sandringham (Simon Callow) can help remove the price on his head,” according to the synopsis. However, that might not be easily done. The Duke is not used to the word “no,” "Access Hollywood" reports. Also, he’s “as opulent and flamboyant as they come in the 18th century.”
Season 1, Episode 11 – 'The Devil’s Mark'
“Claire and Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) stand trial for witchcraft,” the description teases. We previously reported that this would happen as long as “Outlander” followed the Diana Gabaldon book series. However, the synopsis doesn’t stop there: “Claire learns a secret about Geillis' past.” They might have something in common.
Season 1, Episode 12 – “Lallybroch”
Jamie will take a trip down memory lane in episode 12, but it won’t be pleasant. “Old wounds are reopened when Jamie returns to his family home,” the synopsis reads. Book readers know that the title “Lallybroch” refers to Jamie’s hometown. He’ll meet up with some old family members too, according to the episode 13 description.
Season 1, Episode 13 – “The Watch”
“A redcoat deserter from Jamie's past returns; Jenny (Laura Donnelly) goes into labor; Jamie and Ian (Steven Cree) join the Watch,” the description teases. Audiences will remember Jenny from an early episode of “Outlander” where Black Jack Randall threatened to rape her. She is all grown up now and has married Jamie’s best friend from childhood, Ian. Yet a wife and newborn won’t stop Ian from joining a group called the Watch. We’re not sure what the Watch is, but it sounds dangerous.
While these descriptions have made us super excited for more “Outlander” episodes, we can’t help but notice that Jamie and Claire aren’t mentioned together. We’re hoping our favorite couple isn’t in trouble — but knowing Jamie and Claire, safety seems unlikely.
“Outlander” Season 1 will return on Saturday, April 4, at 9 p.m. EDT on Starz.
