‘Outlander’ Season 3 Spoilers: Episode 4 Synopsis, Videos And Photos

“Outlander” Season 3 fast-forwarded through much of Claire’s life without Jamie last week, but it isn’t time for a reunion just yet. Episode 4 will pick up with Claire still searching for her lost husband.

The search for Jamie (Sam Heughan) becomes difficult. “In 1968 Scotland, Claire (Caitriona Balfe), Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin) struggle to trace Jamie’s whereabouts in history, leaving Claire to wonder if they will ever find him again,” the synopsis teases.

In a sneak-peek video for episode 4 from TVLine, it’s easy to see why this “Outlander” installment is titled “Of Lost Things.” Claire gave Jamie’s mother’s pearls to Mrs. Graham (Tracey Wilkinson) when she returned to her own time. Fiona (Iona Claire), Mrs. Graham’s granddaughter, inherited the necklace, but she wants to return them to Claire. The surgeon is deeply touched by the gesture.

When Brianna tells Claire that the National Archive in Edinburgh has the ship manifests they’re looking for, Claire doesn’t seem that excited. “Mama, are you alright?” Brianna asks, sensing her mother’s sadness.

“You haven’t called me that in a very long time,” Claire says. She hugs her daughter.

Brianna might not be as thrilled about finding Jamie as she is letting on. “I’m afraid of losing her,” she admits to Roger in the trailer. Letting her mother go 200 years back in time isn’t an easy thing to do.

While Claire is getting closer to finding Jamie in “Outlander” Season 3, the Scotsman will be focused on adapting to his new life. Lord John Grey (David Berry) has arranged for Jamie to get parole and serve outside of a prison, avoiding Murtagh’s (Duncan LaCroix) fate of being shipped to the colonies. He’ll be known as Alexander MacKenzie while serving somewhere much more comfortable that Ardsmuir.

“While serving as groomsman at the aristocratic estate of Helwater, Jamie is reluctantly pulled into the intrigue of a noble British family,” the synopsis says.

In a clip released by Cosmopolitan, Jamie and the other groomsmen draw straws to figure out who has to accompany Geneva, one of the Dunsany family’s daughters, on a trip. Jamie lucks out and doesn’t have to take her, but she chastises him as a “useless Scotchman” when he takes too long to bring her horse out.

As she leaves, Jamie remarks to one of his co-workers, “A boot on the hind quarters is what that one needs.”

Geneva’s sister Isobel (Tanya Reynolds) overhears the conversation. Luckily for Jamie, she doesn’t seem too offended by the suggestion.

It seems Geneva may be playing hard to get. The Englishwoman appears very into Jamie in the trailer. “You have to do my bidding,” she says. “Come to my room.”

Of course, Jamie is still hung up on Claire, but it looks like he and Geneva might be getting hot and heavy in this episode. However, there are some pretty huge complications that come with this potential hookup. Fans will have to watch the episode to find out what those consequences include.
