‘Outlander’ Season 4 Spoilers: Episode 6 Promo Video, Synopsis And Photos Released

Despite being in the New World, “Outlander” keeps bringing back old faces. Lord John Grey will reunite with Jamie in Season 4, episode 6.

“Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are surprised when Lord John Grey (David Berry) drops in on Fraser’s Ridge with an unexpected traveling companion,” the synopsis says.

The promo video for the episode, titled “Blood of My Blood,” makes it clear that the companion is actually Jamie’s son, Willie. Geneva Dunsany had blackmailed Jamie into sleeping with her just before she wed an older earl. Both Geneva and her husband died shortly after Willie’s birth, so the boy was raised by Lord John Grey and his wife Isobel, Geneva’s sister. Jamie left their estate when Willie was little, so he’ll be left wondering if the young boy even remembers him.

Unfortunately, a measles epidemic nearby catches John off guard. He’ll suddenly get sick, and Claire will have to spend time with the man who has some serious feelings for her husband. “When Grey takes ill, Claire must reconcile her personal feelings with her duties as a doctor,” the synopsis teases.

The promo video makes it clear that Jamie will get to spend some time with his son. He and Willie will go fishing, but a confrontation with the Native Americans will put him in danger.

Not mentioned in the synopsis is Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix). The Scotsman is a regulator in the New World. He’s fighting for citizens to have lower taxes, so he might not be a fan of a governor like Lord John Grey. However, the commercial above shows him realizing that Willie is Jamie’s son.

This episode is the first to air after Caitriona Balfe’s Golden Globe nomination. The actress was nominated for the fourth year in a row for her performance as Claire.
