'Outriders' Guide: How To Farm Legendary Weapons In The Demo
KEY POINTS
- Legendary weapons in "Outriders" can be obtained from any viable loot source in the game
- Elite enemies have a higher chance of dropping legendaries
- Running the combat arena in "Terra Infirma" can take as short as one minute to finish
The demo version for “Outriders,” the new looter shooter from People Can Fly and Square Enix, is available to download right now and includes the game’s opening act, the first story mission and a handful of side quests.
The things players can experience from the demo are quite limited. However, legendary weapons can drop for those who are especially lucky. This is good news for those who want a head start too since any progress made in the demo can be carried over once players purchase “Outriders” when it launches.
These weapons drop very rarely and even more so considering the extent of progression in the demo. Players who want to get a taste of the best guns “Outriders” can offer may try to farm the side quests in the first combat area of the game.
Farming the Frontlines
Players will have to fight through the Frontlines to finish the main story quest. This area also has a few side quests that lead to optional areas. These side areas are combat arenas that are filled with the normal grunt-type enemies and at least one elite unit, such as the Captain.
The best way to farm legendaries in the “Outriders” demo is by running the combat arena in the “Terra Infirma” side quest from Shira. The arena here always spawns a Captain that can be easily killed if players are properly equipped.
Run toward the end of the combat arena to spawn the Captain while ignoring all other enemies. Burn down the Captain’s health as quickly as possible until he drops loot. Grab whatever he drops then let the rest of the enemies kill all players to restart the area. All the enemies in the area will respawn after players do.
Each run will take approximately one minute, assuming players successfully kill the Captain. The Trickster class is arguably the best one to use for this due to its Slow Trap ability that slows down enemies and bullets inside its area of effect. The Devastator class can also run this route relatively well due to their strong area-of-effect abilities and damage mitigation skills.
Collider’s Dave Trumbore also suggests running the “Payback” mission and restoring the game’s Story Point as additional loot run routes.
