'Outriders': What's Coming In The 'Worldslayer' Expansion?
KEY POINTS
- "Worldslayer" will add new content and expand existing game systems
- The expansion will feature deeper buildcrafting and more difficult late-game activities
- "Worldslayer" will officially release in June
The first big expansion for “Outriders” was teased last year, and now the devs at People Can Fly have finally revealed majority of the things players can expect in “Worldslayer.”
While the third-person sci-fi shooter has been quiet since the expansion’s announcement and its previous major update, players will have plenty to look forward to once “Worldslayer” is released in June. Here’s what’s coming.
New Campaign
The expansion will favor a brand-new campaign that will pick up some time after the first game. According to the short “Worldslayer” spotlight, the story will follow the Outrider and their crew investigate the Anomaly, which is getting increasingly unstable.
“Worldslayer’s” story will also feature more of the Insurgent faction and their Altered leader, Ereshkigal.
New Zones
The main theme of “Worldslayer” appears to be the rapidly-evolving Anomaly and its effects on the local environment. Players will get to explore frigid wastelands and more unexplored areas of Enoch.
All-new enemy types are also getting added to complement the new areas. Players will have to fight off new breeds of mutants, marauders and Insurgents if they want to get to the bottom of the Anomaly’s mysteries.
New Gear
Of course, “Worldslayer” will feature a host of new weapons, mods and class-specific armor pieces. Details about each individual gear piece are light, but players can expect more over-the-top weapons and powerful armor set bonuses.
More Sub-classes
As players progress through the expansion’s campaign, they’ll be able to unlock an additional Pax-themed skill tree that includes two whole sub-classes for players to experiment. Again, the details regarding these are scarce, but it ties in nicely with the next point…
Expanded Endgame
The max level cap will be 40, and the max gear score cap is getting pushed to 75. Both changes will help players through the new Apocalypse tiers of difficulty for expeditions and beyond. This difficulty tier will reward players with Apocalypse-tier weapons, boasting three mod slots.
There’s also a bigger endgame mode called the Trials of Tarya Gratar, an unrevealed addition that would give the toughest challenges and the best rewards.
