Paige Hyland Takes On NYFW; ‘Dance Moms’ Star Gets Up Close And Personal With Celebrities At Sherri Hill Fashion Show

“Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler generated buzz for partnering with ELLE.com for 2015 New York Fashion Week (NYFW) but she’s not the only lead from the Lifetime series making similar jumps into the world of fashion. Reality star turned YouTube sensation Paige Hyland recently visited the annual fashion event in New York City.

In a video posted to her up-and-coming YouTube channel Tuesday, the 14-year-old got up close and personal with designer Sherri Hill at her Fall 2015 fashion preview.

“It’s really kind of fun because you get to see everything come to life. All the pretty girls walking the runway,” Hill told Paige of the big event.

While the designer would not admit to having one favorite model, she did reveal what she looks for in a potential runway girl. “I always try to chose girls that of course fits in the dresses, but [that] also have a nice disposition, happy, and are good role models for our customers,” she said.

Being that Paige is an aspiring model, Hill gave her some coveted advice about making it in the fashion industry. “Be yourself,” she suggested. “You’re the product when you’re a model to a great extent… You have a gift. I would use that in everything that you do, carry that forward.”

While backstage at the show, Paige also mingled with a few Sherri Hill models and even a couple of celebrities, including Miss Universe of Australia 2014 Tegan Martin and “Duck Dynasty” star and “Dancing with the Stars” Season 19 contestant Sadie Robertson.

“For me, I like to have fun in life,” Robertson, 17, said of her inspiration for her Sherri Hill “daddy-approved” prom dress line. “I’m not really serious. So anything that makes me happy, makes me excited.”

Besides being able to have several dress options available to gift her friends on prom night, Robertson said her line also holds significant meaning in regards to her faith.

“It was just another way to share my faith and my testimony. I’m big on letting girls be confident in who they are and just dressing modestly,” Roberston said. “This was just the perfect opportunity for me to be able to share my message.”

Following her behind-the-scenes tour, Paige took in Hill's fashion show. In the YouTube video, the former "Dance Moms" lead can be seen sitting in the coveted front row with her mom Kelly Hyland and 17-year-old sister Brooke.

With one NYFW under the belt, Paige told the International Business Times in a statement that she is willing to make a return visit. “Attending Sherri Hill’s NYFW event was exciting. I loved meeting all the models and seeing the beautiful dresses ... I would love to do more videos like this one. They’re really fun to do!"

Paige relaunched her YouTube channel in November. Since it’s premiere, she has garnered over 190,000 subscribers and 4.3 million views. Paige releases new videos on her YouTube channel every Tuesday.
