Palace 'Pushing' Prince Harry, Meghan Markle; William, Kate Look ‘Ineffective,’ Netizens Say
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s huge workload reportedly makes Prince William and Kate Middleton look ineffective.
Kensington Palace just announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be visiting Morocco from Feb. 23 to Feb. 25 at the request of Her Majesty’s government. Following the announcement, one netizen asked why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge don’t have a scheduled tour and felt that the palace is pushing Prince Harry and Markle at the expense of Prince William and Middleton.
“Seems like there is a push to have Harry and Meghan front and center. Intentional to make William and Kate work ethic look bad to public,” Kimmie K wrote on Twitter.
Another Twitter user agreed and said that she doesn’t understand why Prince William and Middleton aren’t going. She added that it’s terrific to have Prince Harry and Markle, but it makes the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge “look ineffective.”
Another social media user reacted to the post and stressed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don’t need to make the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look bad because for him, “Will and Kate make themselves look bad all on their own.”
VeryModernMeghan added that Prince William avoided his work as a royal for years by opting to be a helicopter pilot. She added that there is “no push” from the palace, instead it’s just that Prince William and Middleton want to do the "bare minimum" while Prince Harry and Markle want to work.
Annliz Nelson also made fun of Prince William and Middleton by sarcastically pointing out that it’s been eight years since they officially joined the royal fold and everybody already knows their work ethic.
A different social media user shared her two cents about the issue and stressed that the palace’s action has nothing to do with making Prince William and Middleton look bad. Instead, it’s the opposite. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rank higher than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex so they do more significant things because they are more important.
