Model Paris Jackson, who recently opened up about her relationship with Paris Hilton, said she adores the socialite and admires her strength.
As part of a conversation with Hilton's mother, Kathy Hilton, for C Magazine’s Spring 2021 issue, 22-year-old Jackson discussed how Hilton and she shared similar experiences as teenagers.
She noted “The Simple Life” star is absolutely funny and smart.
"It’s really nice having someone there who has been around the block. She’s done this for a long time and she’s clearly so good at maneuvering her way through the industry. It’s nice to know that I can call her when I hit a crossroad," C Magazine quoted her as saying.
Hilton, 40, revealed last year in her "This Is Paris" documentary that she faced physical and emotional abuse as a teenager in a reformatory school in Utah, People magazine reported. Jackson noted she also had similar experiences growing up as she attended another reformatory school in Utah. "I went through some very, very similar experiences with those kind of teen places," Jackson said.
"She's been through a lot and it's amazing to see her come out of the other end … a diamond," she added.
The daughter of Michael Jackson further credited Hilton for making her realize the importance of being a strong woman and setting an example for other women.
Kathy chimed in and noted in the earlier days how a woman used to get judged if she spoke out.
"A lot of young people just say what they think is cool to say of the minute. She really cares," the 61-year-old actress said about her daughter's nature. Kathy also noted that her daughter has a "big heart" and she is a "real helper," C Magazine reported.
Jackson acknowledged the power of social media and said there is no point in having a huge platform if someone doesn't use it to uplift causes. She also shed light on the importance of discussing topics such as feminism, human rights, animal rights, and the environment.
"The Space Between" star shared her wish to live in the 1960s era because of the Woodstock music festival and the civil rights movements.
"People call me a hippie and I don’t mind that. I take it as a compliment," she added.
