Paul Rudd Felt Like A Kid While Shooting For 'Captain America: Civil War'
Paul Rudd will be seen as Ant-Man/Scott Lang in the upcoming Marvel film “Captain America: Civil War.” The actor is reportedly thrilled to be a part of the film and he revealed to Screen Rant that in a real sense he became part of Marvel family after he shot for the film.
“It made it real in a way that even working on Ant-Man didn’t seem real. I knew I was part of the Marvel Universe. I knew I was in it, and it was exciting to feel as if I was in it, but it was much more real when I was standing next to Captain America or Iron Man or a few of the other guys, and you look around and go, 'Oh wow, there they are. There’s that silver arm, there it is in person,' ” he said.
He also added that he felt like a kid while he was shooting with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans. It is not known how Ant-Man will factor into the film, but from the recent "Ant-Man" trailer via Comic Book, it seems that Anthony Mackie’s Flacon will come to recruit him in one of the Avengers’ groups.
In the comics, Tony Stark/Iron man hires Lang to work in Stark International Design. Under Stark’s guidance, Lang installs a new security system in the Avengers Mansion. He assists Iron Man and other Avengers and rescues Iron Man when he is trapped in his armor. On many occasions, he has also been part of the Avengers backup team when Baron Zemo captures the mansion.
If the comic book plot is anything to go by, then Ant-Man will probably be on Iron Man’s side. “Captain America: Civil War” will see the formation of two groups of Avengers headed by Captain America and Iron Man, respectively. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are directing the film, which will open May 6, 2016.
