Paul Rudd Stars In 'Ant-Man': Director Peyton Reed 'Spoils' Film By Sharing With Fake Ending
After the major success of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Marvel has high hopes for director Peyton Reed’s “Ant-Man,” which will star Paul Rudd. The plot of the film, especially its ending, are being kept a secret. However, to grab the interest of the fans, Reed recently shared a fake ending of the film on his Twitter account.
He posted a comic book strip of “Fred Hembeck Destroys the Marvel Universe,” where a character named Cracker goes on to find Ant-Man, who is fighting Water Wizard. During his fight, Ant-Man is knocked by Crackers. An old lady puts Ant-Man in the microwave and he explodes.
Peyton captioned the post on his Twitter account as, “In a major act of self-sabotage, I have decided to spoil the ending of ANT-MAN. Here it is, in two parts. Part One and ANT-MAN Ending Spoiler, Part Two.”
“Ant-Man” is currently in its post-production stage and will hit theaters July 17. The film has been shot mostly in San Francisco and metro Atlanta. It stars Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip "T.I" Harris, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas.
The film is based on the Marvel comic of the same name and will revolve around the story of a con-man Scott Lang who must channel his inner powers to help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym. Lang can shrink himself to the size of an ant and can enhance his strength. By the sheer virtue of his powers he can save the world from evil.
Marvel President Kevin Feige is quite excited about the film and revealed in a previous interview that he is happy to have Reed on the project. “Peyton is really, really wonderful, and will be proving that soon enough. As I said to the Comic-Con audience a few years ago, ‘You might not have heard of ["Captain America: The Winter Soldier" directors] Joe and Anthony Russo, but you’re going to be big fans of them soon.’ And I’d say the same thing about Peyton Reed now,” he said, as IGN reported.
