PayPal bans accounts selling pirated DVDs
E-commerce business website PayPal is shutting down accounts of several Chinese retailers who are using the company’s online service to sell pirated DVDs.
The company, following the decision, conducted a joint operation with the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America)’s Pacific office to investigate the activities of various retailers, mostly based in China, who traded and shipped fake DVDs and Blu-Ray discs to customers worldwide.
Julie Bainbridge, PayPal's head of global brand risk management, said this was a strong message to all criminals that the company will not accept any illegal activity on the company’s global pay platform, Brothersoft News reported.
