Pet Dog Crashes Through Sunroof Of Parked Car After 'Jumping Off' Roof
A pet dog crashed through the sunroof of a parked car after falling off an apartment building’s roof. The incident took place in Lower East Side, New York, on Friday.
A Reddit user heard a giant smash alongside a woman shrieking while walking down Orchard st. Thinking it to be an accident, the person went in the direction from where the sound was coming and saw people staring at a silver Dodge Challenger
“The crowd gets closer to see the sunroof completely smashed in and a dog standing in the cockpit. 30 seconds pass and a panicked woman comes flying down the stairs of an apartment building, climbs onto the hood of the car and pulls the dog out through the sunroof,” the user wrote in a Reddit thread.
“No one saw the moment of impact but from what we all could put together and from the frantic statements of the woman, the dog got loose on the roof, jumped off and landed perfectly through the sunroof. The dog wasn't visibly bleeding but was quite shook up and salivating a lot. Still cannot believe it and hope there's a more reasonable explanation,” the user added.
The user also posted a photo of a woman pulling the dog out of the car. The dog’s owner said the dog, a French Bulldog named Winston, was rushed to a nearby vet after falling six stories from the apartment building’s roof.
“He has a cut on his hind leg that has been stitched, but miraculously did not break a single bone in his body,” the owner said.
Further explaining what had happened, the owner said, the dog’s “leash was removed before we entered our apartment after going on our nightly walk. Instead of going in our apartment, and for the very first time, he bolted up the next few flights of stairs. The roof access door had been left open and we found ourselves on the dark unlit roof. I tried to get him to come to me but he bolted again, towards the front edge of the building. I saw him try and slow down at the last second but it was too late and he went over the edge.”
The owner also posted a photo of the dog recovering in an oxygen chamber and said, “he’s is in an oxygen chamber at the hospital to make sure he continues breathing normally. Should be able to come home tomorrow if no other symptoms manifest.”
