  • Pete Davidson has decided to have all his tattoos removed because it's difficult to hide them with makeup, a report says
  • Some Twitter users were not happy to say goodbye to his body art
  • Others supported Davidson's decision, pointing out that tattoos can be toxic

Pete Davidson's fans may no longer be able to see his ink in the future as the "Saturday Night Live" star has decided to have all his tattoos removed, according to a report.

Davidson wants to get rid of all his tattoos for "professional purposes," Us Weekly reported. The comedian has over 100 tattoos, according to Body Art Guru, so it takes hours to hide them with makeup.

Film critic Mike McGranaghan was the first to report about Davidson's tattoo removal, tweeting a screengrab from "The King of Staten Island" virtual Q&A earlier this month.

"Just attended a virtual Q&A with the Judd Apatow and the cast of THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND. And here's a scoop: Pete Davidson is in the process of getting all his tattoos removed!" he wrote.

Some fans thought McGranaghan was joking, but the Ranker and Daily Grindhouse contributor confirmed that the news was real.

"That’s not serious is it? Why?" one Twitter user asked.

"No, it's real. He even showed his hand, which is already done. He said it takes 3-4 hours in the makeup chair to cover them, so he figured 'it would be easier to get them burned off,'" McGranaghan replied.

The report received mixed responses from netizens. Some were sad about the prospect of saying goodbye to Davidson's body art. "No," one commented. "Someone stop him."

"I won’t stand for this," another user wrote.

“Learning that Pete Davidson is removing ALL his tattoos might give me the same feelings a divorce would give me,” a third user tweeted.

Others, however, approved, pointing out that tattoos can be toxic. One fan is glad he made the decision, considering his health history.

"Try googling 'tattoos' & 'toxic' & read the articles on their ingredients & where they end up in yr body, such as yr lymph nodes. The skin is the body's main way of eliminating toxins. If you're clogging it up with toxic ink, you're asking for trouble. So I'm glad he did this," the user commented.

"There have been tons of articles, starting with Newsweek, about the toxic ingredients in tattoos and the fact that they can migrate into your bloodstream," the netizen added. "Given Pete's medical issues with Crohn's, this was a wise decision long-term."
