PlayStation 4 Unboxing: Sony Releases PS4 Trailer Ahead Of Next-Gen Launch [VIDEO]
With the PS4 launch date nearing, Sony unleashed its official PlayStation 4 unboxing video, complete with a futuristic setting and a dramatic score. The PS4 will be released on Nov. 15 and every minute detail of the next-gen console is being dissected in advance of its launch.
For the official PS4 unboxing video, the rather dull process of taking the next-gen console out of its box gets some necessary theatricality as a shadowy figure, later revealed to be Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony's Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., reveals the contents of the PlayStation 4 package. Clad in leather gloves, the man reveals a network voucher, quick start guide, a DualShock 4 controller, a HDMI cable, an AC power cord, mono headset, USB cable and the PS4 itself. The dramatic unveiling is just the latest from Sony as it gears up for the highly anticipated launch of its next-gen console.
Nearly every aspect, from the technical specs to what's inside the console, has been uploaded to YouTube or shared in a press release, but there is plenty left to explore as few gamers have been able to get their hands on the PS4. While Sony has done an admirable job of keeping up with the demand for new information, other sources have filled in the gaps and uploaded their own videos showing the PS4 in action. As reported by Kotaku, a PS4 event held in Hong Kong revealed the user interface of the PS4, showing it to be like the interface of the updated PlayStation Store. Sony has not released an official dashboard video yet, but that could change in the coming days.
As an alternative to Sony's official PS4 unboxing video, Francis Rages has a pretty subdued unboxing video, notes Kotaku. It's a bit more realistic as Francis giddily tears open the box the PS4 was shipped in, quickly pulls the console out of the box and plugs it in. The PS4 will be released on Nov. 15, and we can expect plenty of coverage, including a launch live stream, as the date draws nearer.
