Ever since Niantic launched “Pokémon GO,” some Pokémon were not available to hatch from Eggs. Hence, Trainers had to catch them in the wild. With the arrival of the Gen 2 Update last month, the list of Pokémon that do not come from Eggs has been altered to accommodate the creatures from the Johto Region.

For players who are very determined to be the very best and catch them all, they may now check out the list of all Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokémon they cannot hatch from any of the eggs, be it 2km, 5km or 10km Eggs. The below list does not include Evolutions, but it does cover region-exclusive Pokémon.

The list was shared by Reddit user gustavomly, who came up with it after looking into TheSilphRoad’s updated Pokémon GO Egg Distance List. However, the Redditor himself is doubting the list. “According to the new chart made by TheSilphRoad team, this is the list of Pokémon that one can not hatch. But i have my doubts about some like Mankey or Magikarp, I don't know if the data for those were too small or if those are really unhatchable.”

Many “Pokémon GO” players seem to agree with gustavomly’s concern, so they shared their insights in the subreddit the latter created. One wrote: “I have hatched dozens of Magikarp since the game’s release. The only 2km Egg hatch that’s more common for me is Geodude.” Another pointed out: “I hatched a Mankey yesterday.”

Meanwhile, some expressed their disappointment over Niantic’s choice of which Pokémon are incapable of hatching from Eggs. Reddit user Bacteriophag commented: “Come on. Spawns are understandable but why Bellsprout, Horsea, Magikarp and Mankey? While Paras, Ekans, Diglett are still hatching…” Another user with the handle GCBIII opined: “Some of these are quite frustrating to me, especially Horsea and Magikarp.”
