An adult entertainment star has opened up about what it’s like to be followed by former President Barack Obama.
After trending on Twitter in the wake of the coronavirus lockdown, porn star Sara Jay made headlines when Obama was recognized by netizens as one of her 1.1. million followers. However, the adult performer believes her being followed by the former president should not be overanalyzed.
"I’ve been trying to keep it quiet but every now and again someone brings it up. I’m like, 'Don’t make this into something, it’s not OK,'" Jay said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Beast.
Jay went on to say that she tried to downplay it because she respects Obama's privacy and doesn't want everyone reading too much into it.
“Around 2008 it was brought to my attention, and I tried to sweep it under the rug. I like to give people their privacy and it shouldn’t be national news that he enjoys Sara Jay porn. I don’t really want the Secret Service following me around either,” Jay continued.
The adult actress also assumed that the former president may have only followed her back right when she started following him on Twitter.
“It was probably during that time of, ‘Oh, you follow me and I’ll follow you back,’ kind of thing. I’m going to assume that’s how it happened,” Jay explained. “If not maybe he and Michelle like Sara Jay porn, I’d like to think that anyway.”
While the attention the adult performer garnered may be an advancement for her career, Jay viewed it as an opportunity to challenge racial boundaries within the adult entertainment industry instead.
She discussed how in the past, a lot of interracial porn was often “fetishized,” and it was through this that she felt like there was “room for her company to make regular porn with people with different ethnicities.”
Per The Daily Beast, Jay’s company, Wyde Syde Productions, will be offering adult entertainment performers a unique opportunity to define their own labels and remove the racist themes that have since been prevalent in the porn industry.
“I’ve always felt when you see people of different ethnicities coming together in sex it’s a real symbol of love—to me you’re seeing these people overcome historic and traditional challenges just to have sex, and that’s always been hot to me. I don’t think that has to be fetishized,” she explained.
