Porn Star Riley Reid Talks Retirement: 'Ready To Start Savoring Myself For Me'

Porn star Riley Reid revealed that she has plans to retire from the adult film industry, although didn’t reveal when she intended to do so.

In her YouTube video, Reid, whose real name is Ashley Mathews, answered a series of questions from her fans, including her thoughts about retirement. The adult film actress revealed that she has been in the industry for 10 years.

“I’ve been sharing my body with you guys for 10 years, I’ve been doing porn officially [for] 10 years, so I’m kind of ready to start savoring myself for me. I want to have sex with people that I want to have sex,” Reid said.

The porn star explained that she hasn’t filmed in over four months because COVID-19 has forced a shut down of the adult film industry. Because of this, going back to work and performing with others is something she's reconsidering.

“I want to be able to have sex with someone I care about and I haven’t had sex with someone I care about in a long time. That one made me want to cry,” Reid admitted.

“At this point in my mental state, I don’t want to have sex with a boy until it’s someone I care about,” the porn star said, adding that she isn’t intimate with anyone and is “choosing to be celibate right now.”

The porn star has always been candid about her love life, previously revealing that she only had two “normal boyfriends,” meaning those that aren’t from the adult film industry. However, both guys made Reid choose between romance or her career and she opted for the latter.

Because of this, there are moments when she would ponder if she made the right decisioin. Reid is hopeful that she would find her true love who will accept her and her job as a porn star.

“Knowing I carry the weight of shame around me I find it hard to believe that someday someone will accept me and love me for all of me. But I can hope. So this is me hoping that one day someone will be proud to call me theirs and that other sex workers like me can feel the love we all desire,” Reid said.
