Gainers

Clinical Data, Inc. (CLDA) stock advanced 48.70 percent to $22.35 in the pre-market trading. The company said FDA has approved vilazodone HCl tablets, to be marketed under the brand name Viibryd, for the treatment of adults with major depressive disorder. Clinical Data plans to make Viibryd available in U.S. pharmacies in the second quarter of this year.

Shares of Genoptix, Inc. (GXDX) soared 25.86 percent to $24.87 in the pre-market session. Novartis International AG (NVS) said it agreed to acquire Genoptix through an all cash tender offer at $25.00 a share. This represents a total equity value of $470 million and an enterprise value of $330 million. The transaction is expected to close within the first half of 2011.

Optical Cable Corp. (OCCF) stock surged 21.62 percent to $4.50 in the pre-market trading. Profit for fourth quarter was $1.5 million or 23 cents a share, compared to a loss of $90,000 or 1 cent a share last year. Pro forma earnings were $808,000 or 13 cents a share. Sales rose 31.1 percent to $18.5 million.

Shares of NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) gained 4.82 percent to $23.29 in the pre-market session.

ATP Oil & Gas Corp. (ATPG) stock increased 2.94 percent to $16.10 in the pre-market trading.

Losers

Shares of MIPS Technologies Inc. (MIPS) lost 4.89 percent to $14.60 in the pre-market session.

OmniVision Technologies Inc. (OVTI) stock fell 4.76 percent to $27 in the pre-market trading.

Shares of Veeco Instruments Inc. (VECO) declined 3.06 percent to $43.15 in the pre-market session.

MannKind Corp. (MNKD) stock decreased 2.60 percent to $5.61 in the pre-market trading.

Shares of ASML Holding NV (ASML) moved down 1.77 percent to $38.26 in the pre-market session.
