  • Mario Pasilic is showing promise for Atalanta

Chelsea FC has been busy in the past several days, and most are wondering how long they can keep up, with their finances known to be limited.

There is that deal involving Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, though it has yet to be finalized. They are also targeting another player, Kai Havertz of Bayern Leverkusen, meaning the Blues will need all the funds they can get by either dealing away players or not renewing some players for next season.

They do have players on loan such as Mario Pasilic. The 25-year-old German is currently with Atalanta on loan, but it appears that La Dea plans to take in the midfielder. Pasalic has been with the club for the past two years and has been impressive. According to sporting director Giovanni Sartori, they will be making Pasalic's loan spell permanent, Sky Sports Italy reported (via Evening Standard).

“We’re going to buy Mario Pasalic on a permanent deal from Chelsea. We want to use the buy option,” Sartori said.

For Pasalic, it would be a big sigh of relief. The German never had the chance to suit up for Chelsea since joining them from Hajduk Split in 2014. And based on how things are going on right now at Stamford Bridge, a return is unlikely to work in favor of the 25-year-old midfielder.

Atalanta will pick up the option to buy Pasalic for $16.98 million. Once the deal is sealed, the proceeds should come in handy for the Blues in their pursuit of their summer targets. Aside from Werner and Havertz, Chelsea is reportedly keen on going after Ben Chilwell too.

It was previously reported that Chelsea is already discussing a possible deal for Havertz with Bayer Leverkusen. If things go well, the Blues are expected to have a new young attacking combo in Werner and Havertz. The duo could address the club's needs next season, especially with Willian Borges da Silva and Pedro Rodriguez still without a contract.

Willian has yet to be offered a short-term deal, something the Brazilian is reportedly open to signing. Pedro's signing will also depend on that. The Spaniard mentioned that he will not sign any deal unless Willian gets a fresh pact.
