KEY POINTS
- West Ham United is expected to part ways with Fabian Balbuena
- The Hammers are being urged to explore the market for Balbuena's replacement
- Balbuena's agent says there are multiple offers on the table for the Paraguay national
The contract of Fabian Balbuena with West Ham United is coming to a close, but the side of the Paraguayan footballer is not worrying about what comes next.
According to his agent, “The General” is not short of offers even though there are claims he lacks what it takes to push himself in the English Premier League.
No less than Balbuena’s agent, Renato Bittar, revealed that the 29-year-old center-back is not short of options as he winds down his time at the London Stadium, Versus reported.
Bittar feels that the Paraguay national will continue his football career in Europe and will weigh in on all options.
"We have several things for Fabian, most likely we will continue in Europe. There are several options, we are in no hurry because the tournament just ended. The best leagues are asking about him, he will continue in European football,” Bittar stated.
Balbuena’s contract will end this June, allowing him to negotiate with other clubs thereafter.
He joined the Hammers in 2018 for a fee reportedly worth around $4.97 million. While he has been a reliable player for West Ham United, some feel that it may be in the best interest of David Moyes to look for the player's replacement soon.
Although there are questions on the pace and mobility of Balbuena, his side believes he remains an asset and someone who can help any team.
However, it remains a mystery for now where the Paraguay national may possibly end up playing next season.
As for West Ham United, the time to upgrade Balbuena’s spot may be right. There are a lot of young and budding players who can play the same position and possibly boost their campaign.
