President Obama's Leaked Workout Video Goes Viral, But Where Was The Secret Service?

For anyone who wondered what U.S. President Barack Obama looks like working out, chances are they now know after a video of the POTUS exercising in Poland was leaked. Sure, it’s silly to watch President Obama make awkward faces as he gets physical, but why was such a video leaked in the first place?

Where was the U.S. Secret Service when all of this was happening? Was the president safe while being filmed? According to Fox News, the Secret Service is sweating it.

Though many would describe this as a security breach -- considering it’s not every day that the public get to see the commander-in-chief awkwardly lift weights -- a Secret Service spokesperson said no one was barred from taking snapshots of the POTUS when he went to the gym for his workout at a 5-star Marriott hotel gym in Warsaw.

“Hotel guests were not asked to leave the gym ... nor were they asked to refrain from taking pictures,” Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said, as quoted by Fox News. Secret Service agents were “in proximity to the president while he was in the gym.”

All hotel guests were screened before they entered the hotel, and that included anyone planning to work out in the hotel’s private gym, the Secret Service said. The president was apparently never in danger.

The 1:28-minute was uploaded by a Facebook user named Jean Ekwa. President Obama can be been doing lunges and free weights and riding the elliptical, while wearing headphones. He was in Poland to have a face-to-face meeting with Ukraine President-Elect Petro Poroshenko and attend other diplomatic events. Obama flew to Brussels on Wednesday.
