‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 6B Intro Revealed For Five Year Time Jump; Check Out The Differences In The New Opening Title Sequence [VIDEO]
Welcome to the future, “Pretty Little Liars” fans! Season 6B of the ABC Family (renamed Freeform) series is introducing a Season 6B time jump … and a brand new opening title sequence to go along with it. The new opener was released Thursday for viewers to feast on before the new episodes air in 2016.
The opening sequence is similar to the one that has been featured on the show since 2010. The first 10 seconds – including footage showing makeup and hair being done on a dead blonde girl – is left untouched. But the big difference now is that there are five girls standing above the coffin, not four. While the previous version only featured Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Aria (Lucy Hale) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario), the new video adds Alison (Sasha Pieterse) to the mix. All five of the characters are also displaying their new hairdos, which are part of the five-year time jump of the upcoming season.
Another big change is that Aria is no longer the one “shh-ing” for the camera. This time around Emily gets to jump in on the fun -- for now.

The different intro for Season 6B isn’t a shocker for fans. Creator Marlene King teased the new opener last month on Twitter, revealing that all five girls get to “shh” for the camera. While a behind-the-scenes video captures all the actresses taking their turn, it’s unclear if the intro will change week-to-week during Season 6.
“Pretty Little Liars” viewers can see for themselves when Season 6B returns in January 2016.
