KEY POINTS

  • Prince Andrew is the most pompous and entitled of the Queen's children, according to a royal commentator.
  • Prince Andrew wants a huge birthday celebration.
  • The Duke of York will have a low-key 60th birthday bash.

Prince Andrew was recently dubbed as the most entitled and pompous of Queen Elizabeth’s four children.

Following the criticism that he received after his interview with BBC’s Emily Maitlis, the Duke of York was also slammed by royal commentator Angela Mollard.

On the “Royals” podcast, Mollard also talked about Prince Andrew’s upcoming birthday and said that Her Majesty must have originally planned something huge for her favorite son. But it is also possible for the Duke of York to have insisted on having a huge celebration.

Unfortunately, Sarah Ferguson’s ex-husband’s birthday bash will be downgraded to just a small dinner with his family.

“The nature of Andrew and all the time that I was reporting in the UK, Andrew was the most pompous, the most entitled of the Queen’s children. The one that sort of sat back and played golf. Just the behavior that has been displayed, the conversations around his associations. He’s got a questionable character, to say the least,” Mollard said.

Mollard also said that once Prince Andrew’s birthday celebration is downgraded, the attention will go to Princess Anne, who will be turning 70 next year. However, the royal expert said that Princess Royal would not be happy with the attention that she will receive.

“So poor old Princess Anne, who probably would just like to go and ride her horse on her birthday. Now she has to have a jolly birthday that she probably doesn’t want, just to keep the public and the Queen happy,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Duke of York also made headlines this week after it was revealed that he was used as a bait by the late Jeffrey Epstein to lure a teenage girl to his Caribbean island. The girl was reportedly sexually abused by Epstein in New Mexico in 2004.

In a statement released to The Sunday Times by Jane Doe, she said that Epstein raped her in front of a wall filled with photographs of him shaking hands with world leaders and A-listers.
