Prince Charles was advised to “boil his head” by one of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s aides.

In “The Prince Charles Letters” compiled by David Stubbs, it was revealed that the future King had a couple of written exchanges with the former prime minister during her time at Number 10.

Prince Charles once received a letter from Thatcher’s fellow, which was beneath the usual Civil Service oil. In the letter, he was effectively advised to boil his own head.

“His gist was that you, Mrs. Thatcher, had no time available to act as ‘period roofing consultant.’ Can you not make time? From my end, I know I can,” Prince Charles wrote.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s dad’s dry sense of humor was also evident in Prince Charles’ first letter to Thatcher on May 5, 1979. The prince congratulated the former prime minister on her rise to Number 10 at the time.

“Congratulations to you, Mrs. Thatcher, and to your husband Denis, who I suppose will have to boil his own breakfast egg from now on. One thing I hope to see eye to eye on is the blasted new buildings they keep erecting over London, blighting the view and adding to a sense that the national soul is settling into some sort of cement-like torpor,” Prince Charles wrote.

In related news, Prince Charles also made headlines after it was reported that he may be the first royal to visit Cuba. Even though the future King’s trip next year hasn’t been confirmed yet, government officials from the United Kingdom and Cuba are already looking forward to it.

Prince Charles is believed to have met the president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, at the Clarence House last moth. The upcoming royal visit is aimed at boosting the relations between the U.K. and Cuba and will be part of an overseas tour to the Caribbean in 2019.

If the trip pushes through, it is another sign that Prince Charles’ royal role is increasing. His mom, Queen Elizabeth II, has passed on some of her responsibilities to her son for the past couple of months.
