Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have contrasting opinions when it comes to having lunch whenever they travel.

According to Robert Hardman in his book “Queen of the World,” the Prince of Wales would want to omit lunch from his schedule if possible. Prince Charles reportedly has a “dim view of lunch.”

“‘I’m like a camel he is often fond of saying’, often to the chagrin of those in the entourage who do not feel very camel like by the time they get to lunchtime,” Hardman wrote.

“The prince prefers a very small lunch if there must be lunch at all, usually a quick egg sandwich in the back of a royal car,” he added.

Prince Charles’ second wife, Camilla, doesn’t share his enthusiasm for skipping lunch. Beth Allcock, a journalist for Express, noted that the Duchess of Cornwall does not share the future king’s “scant food preferences.”

Camilla is the patron of The Big Lunch charity that aims to bring people together through food because this is viewed as a great way to make friends and create unity. In March 2018, Camilla celebrated the Big Lunch at Barn Croft Primary School in London.

The festivities brought together 53 Commonwealth nations to rejoice diversity. It’s also a way to unite over the strength of Commonwealth bonds.

In related news, Prince Charles and Camilla had a rough start when they decided to publicize their romance. The people were not very warm to them because Princess Diana blamed their affair for her failed marriage with the Prince of Wales.

Reports have it that Prince Charles rekindled his romance with Camilla while he was still married to Princess Diana. The People’s Princess reportedly caught them talking on the telephone during her and Prince Charles’s Mediterranean cruise with friends Lord and Lady Ramsey. Princess Diana was so upset at the time that she threatened Prince Charles she would go home. When they reached home, things got worse.

Princess Diana and Camilla were friends before they became rivals. The Prince and Princess of Wales used to visit Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles at their home in Bolehyde Manor in Wiltshire.

Princess Diana also used to help Camilla look after kids. Their relationship only turned sour when Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom learned that Prince Charles and Camilla were having an affair.
