Prince Charles was recently accused of not knowing how to treat a wife, particularly Princess Diana.

In the 2017 biography “The Duchess: The Untold Story,” royal author Penny Junor said that Prince Charles was already way out of his depth when he committed a mistake during his honeymoon with Princess Diana.

“He had no idea how to treat a wife, how to look after her. He had no idea how to look after himself, he’d never had to do it, he didn’t even dress himself,” she said.

Following their honeymoon, Prince Charles was left feeling frustrated because he didn’t know how to deal with his wife. The couple had a series of heated rows after the Princess of Wales saw the Prince of Wales wearing the cufflinks that Camilla Parker Bowles gave to him.

“Charles was mystified and despondent. He didn’t know what had gone wrong or how he was going to cope,” Junor said.

As such, the future King left Princess Diana under the care of his staff, who also didn’t have any idea how to deal with the late royal.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles marriage was a tumultuous one. Even during their honeymoon, the couple already realized that they had very little in common. Prince Charles went on their honeymoon with his painting materials and books in tow.

The Princess of Wales, who was not a reader, hated her husband’s wretched books especially since Prince Charles buried his head more in a book rather than sitting and talking to his wife.

Years after their wedding and after being blessed with two sons, Prince Charles and Princess Diana announced their separation in 1992. Even before their divorce was finalized, the mom of two already gave a tell-all interview about her relationship with Prince Charles during her interview with Panorama.

Princess Diana admitted that she knew about Prince Charles and Camilla’s affair very early on in their marriage.
