Prince Charles reportedly made Kate Middleton feel nervous years ago.

During the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first joint interview after their engagement, Middleton said that she was nervous and worried about meeting Prince Charles for the first time. But to her surprise, the heir to the throne was actually very nice and friendly.

“I was quite nervous about meeting William’s father, but he was very welcoming and very friendly. It couldn’t have gone easier for me really,” she said.

Before tying the knot with the second in line to the throne, Middleton also managed to endear herself to Camilla Parker Bowles and Queen Elizabeth II. During the same interview, the mom of three shared details from her first meeting with the monarch.

Middleton said that she and the Queen first met at Peter and Autumn Phillips’ royal wedding in 2008. At that time, Middleton and Prince William are not yet engaged. Prince William asked for Middleton’s hand in marriage two years later.

According to Prince William’s wife, the Queen was very friendly and welcoming. Since then, the two female royals have developed a close relationship with each other.

But the same cannot be said about Middleton and Camilla very early on. While Prince George’s mom was still dating Prince William, the Duchess of Cornwall made it known that she disliked the Duchess of Cambridge.

Camilla reportedly asked Prince Charles to talk to his eldest son about his relationship. This led Prince William to end his relationship with Middleton for a few months.

But years passed and Camilla and Middleton’s relationship also improved. In fact, the two royals have been spotted in various royal engagements together. Middleton and Camilla also share one similarity with each other. Both of them will become Queen Consort one day.

There are predictions suggesting that Middleton will follow in Camilla’s footsteps by rejecting the title of Princess of Wales. The royal title previously belonged to Princess Diana.
