Prince Charles No Longer Meghan Markle’s ‘Defender,’ Heir Sees Duchess Through Different Lens?

Prince Charles and Meghan Markle used to be very close. But it seems that their relationship changed ever since the Duchess of Sussex was criticized by the press, according to netizens.

On the online forum site Quora, one royal fan asked if the heir to the throne is still Markle’s defender. And Pamela Lipscomb, a former singer, said that he’s not.

At the beginning of Prince Harry and Markle’s relationship, the dad of two was very supportive. In fact, he even had a special nickname for his daughter-in-law. But after just a year, Prince Charles must have seen that Markle hasn’t been operating in the best interest of the royal family.

“He knows that supporting the monarchy is the business of the royals, and Camilla understands these responsibilities as well. Watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their (or at least her) single-minded pursuit to promote herself and her brand with little regard to the royal family will have taken the tarnish off of the shine Meghan had in his eyes,” she said.

Lipscomb went on to say that Prince Charles must have also been affected by Prince William and Prince Harry’s alleged feud. And the fact that the royal siblings’ fight was triggered by the Duchess of Sussex.

“So, while Prince Charles wanted this marriage to go well and be a positive situation for his son and the royal family, it has instead caused dissatisfaction and dislikes not just for Meghan, but also for Prince Harry on the part of the British populace. Prince Charles will have seen these things happening, and they will have caused him consternation and worry and made him look at her through a different lens,” she said.

Graham Short, a musician, said that Prince Charles, of course, is no longer Markle’s defender. It is also likely that Camilla Parker Bowles is advising Prince Charles on the matter.

“She won’t stand for any nonsense from Ms. Markle, and she has made sure Charles is aware of everything. Meghan is now isolated, to a great extent, by the Royal Family. Does anyone think Meghan can behave as she does without senior Royals saying a word? ” he said.
