Prince Charles Places Hand On Princess Diana’s Shoulder In Rare Family Photo

In this photo shared on Instagram, the Prince and Princess of Wales are a picture of a happy family. Princess Diana is carrying newborn Prince Harry in her arms. Meanwhile, Prince Charles holds Prince William in one hand and places his other hand on Princess Diana’s shoulder.

The snap was taken after Prince Harry’s birth. Although the couple was smiling, something was reportedly off after Princess Diana delivered Prince William’s younger brother. According to Andrew Morton’s biography “Diana: Her True Story,” the Princess of Wales was hurt with Prince Charles’ remarks when he said, “Oh God, it’s a boy.”

Prince Charles was reportedly only joking, but his wife had never recovered from that joke. Princess Diana admitted that after the heir apparent’s joke “something inside me closed off.”

Prince Charles made the same joke during Prince Harry’s christening which upset Princess Diana. The future king approached Princess Diana’s mom and said that they were so disappointed that the baby was a boy since they were expecting a girl. The caption pointed out that she was in a private holiday location and was followed by a paparazzo, so she gave the photographer a serious look. Netizens pitied Princess Diana for what she went through when she was still alive. They felt that the press hunted her like an animal.
