Prince Charles Receives Hilarious Birthday Present; Camilla Confirms Secret Gift
Prince Charles received a hilarious birthday present.
On Wednesday, the Prince of Wales celebrated his 70th natal day. When he arrived for a tea party at Spencer House, he received a present from the members of the press.
Prince Charles was so thrilled with the gift that he peeked into the bag. It turned out that the present was a squirrel repellent, a nod to the royal's editorial for the week's Country Life, where the heir urged the nation to take care of Britain's countryside.
"We thought it might amuse you sir, we were a bit worried after reading Country Life. We thought the beloved red squirrels might be interfering with the bird tables," one reported told Prince Charles (as quoted by Express).
"Where do you find these terrible things?" Prince Charles responded, smiling and laughing at the same time.
On the other hand, Camilla confirmed that she has already given her present to her husband. However, she declined to share what her gift was to her husband of 13 years.
"I did but I am not telling," Camilla said.
The Duchess of Cornwall revealed a few days ago that it's difficult to choose a gift for Prince Charles as he already has everything. At that time, she said that she has not yet brought a gift for the Prince of Wales.
"People keep asking me if I have brought him a present and I haven’t. He is the worst person," Camilla said. "He has a list (containing porcelain and items for the garden) and I’ve learnt through 13 years of being married that it is better to stick to the list."
"He has a lot of things, but he knows what he likes and if you give him a present, he says, ‘Oh that’s lovely,’ when he doesn’t think it’s lovely at all," she added.
In related news, Prince Charles and Camilla might have a hard time during their reign as they are not as well-liked as Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In fact, in a recent YouGov poll, the Prince of Wales only ranked seventh and Camilla 10th in the most liked royal survey.
