Prince Charles Thinks Meghan Markle’s Favorite Fitness Trend Could Save NHS Crisis
Prince Charles is confident that Meghan Markle’s favorite fitness trend could help save the ongoing NHS crisis.
According to The Telegraph, the Prince of Wales said that yoga could help save precious and expensive NHS resources because of its effectiveness as a tool for health and healing. He also said that the ancient practice of yoga has proven beneficial effects on the body and the mind.
In his written address to the Yoga in Healthcare conference, Prince Charles said, “For thousands of years, millions of people have experienced yoga’s ability to improve their lives… The development of therapeutic, evidence-based yoga is, I believe, an excellent example of how yoga can contribute to health and healing.”
Markle has previously opened up about her love for yoga and she has also revealed that her mom, Doria Ragland, is a licensed yoga instructor in the United States. While speaking with Best Health magazine years ago, the Duchess of Sussex declared that yoga is her thing.
According to Prince Harry’s wife, she started doing mommy and me yoga with her mom when she was just 7 years old. But it was only in college that she did it regularly.
“I’ll do yoga a couple of times a week – hot yoga, specifically – with Duncan Parviainen. He is so positive and, especially in my industry, it’s so important to surround yourself with people who are grounded and really optimistic,” she said.
When asked what her perfect day looks like, Markle said that a wonderful day for her would include some yoga and a great sashimi lunch.
Some of the benefits of yoga according to Markle’s instructor include improved flexibility, muscle strength, greater happiness, increased mental focus, decreased anxiety, a greater ability to relax, better sleep, and more.
When Markle relocated to London before marrying Prince Harry, it was reported that she found a studio in the United Kingdom where she now practices yoga. She also does yoga at home and has inspired Prince Harry to do the same.
