Prince Charles Will Be A ‘Doting’ Granddad After Kate Middleton, William Snub
Prince Charles will be a doting grandfather to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby after Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly shut him out of Prince George’s life.
According to royal correspondent for Express Rebecca Perring, the Prince of Wales will be a different type of grandfather to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s child compared to how he is with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s kids. As for the reason why, the journalist said that Prince Charles wasn’t as comfortable as Carole Middleton and Michael Middleton when he became a grandparent for the first time.
“When the Sussexes’ baby arrives next month, Charles can again play the doting grandfather. This caring and cuddly Charles is determined not to repeat mistakes from his family’s past,” The Sun’s Emily Andrews wrote.
In addition, Prince William and Middleton reportedly did not let him into Prince George’s life. And the heir to the throne apparently felt excluded when it comes to his eldest grandchild.
“Five years ago it was very different. Charles is said to have complained about feeling excluded from Prince George’s life, saying he ‘almost never’ got to see William and Kate’s first child,” Andrews continued.
Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carole, were seen as “almost always on hand” when it comes to Prince George. On the other hand, Prince Charles was “cold and distant.“
According to previous reports, Prince Charles was beaming with joy after learning that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expecting their first baby. The Prince of Wales apparently received Prince Harry and Markle’s baby announcement with “delight,” despite the possibility that Markle’s pregnancy would have overshadowed his own 70th birthday celebrations the following month.
Prince Charles also celebrated the good news. He had a tour of whiskey distillery Royal Lochnagar in Scotland days after Prince Harry and Markle’s pregnancy announcement. When asked if he had already made a toast for it, the heir said, “oh yes, absolutely,” before adding, “several times.“
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles may give a “priceless gift” to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby by giving him or her a royal title. The Queen issued a Letters Patent to make Prince William and Middleton’s children princes and princesses.
However, some said that Prince Harry and Markle might prefer that their kids don’t have any royal titles at all because they want to give their children a normal life.
