Prince Charles’ Wounds Were Patched Up, Cleaned By This Person
Prince Charles didn’t grow up under the care of Queen Elizabeth because the head of the monarchy was always busy with her royal duties and engagements.
But the heir to the throne was lucky enough to still have been taken cared of well by his nanny, Mabel Anderson.
While speaking with Express, royal author Robert Jobson revealed how Anderson took it upon herself to be like a second mom to Prince Charles. Anderson also cared deeply about Princess Anne, especially while Prince Charles was in school.
“It was Mabel who put Charles to bed, told him stories, patched up his cuts and bruises and hit upon the idea of teaching the royal corgis to hide and seek with Princess Anne so that she wouldn't miss Charles when he started school,” he said.
In his book “Charles at Seventy: Thoughts, Hopes, and Dreams,” Jobson also described Anderson as Prince Charles’ rock. As such, it was evident that the dad of two’s relationship with his nanny was similar to the relationship that moms and sons usually have.
Unfortunately for Prince William and Prince Harry’s dad, he was unable to forge the same relationship with his mom because she traveled across the world between November 1953 and May 1954.
From Nov. 24 to 25, 1953, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh stayed in Bermuda. From Nov. 25 to 27, the royal couple stayed in Jamaica. Shortly after, they returned to London to be with their two children.
But from Dec. 17 to 19, Her Majesty and Prince Philip once again left London to go to Fiji. They also traveled to New Zealand on Dec. 23 until Jan. 30, 1954.
From Feb. 3 to April 1, the royal couple stayed in Australia. They then traveled to the Straits Settlements Cocoas Islands on April 5. Prince Philip and the Queen were in Ceylon from April 10 to 21, and they wrapped up their six-month-tour in Aden from April 27 onwards.
