Princess Diana was loved by royal fans and even those people living in different parts of the world. And even after the Princess of Wales’ death, the entire world couldn’t seem to forget about her.

Now, it has been revealed why royal fans, Brits in particular, were so drawn to the mom of two. In the Netflix documentary “The Story of Diana,” People’s editor-in-chief Jess Cagle explained how she thinks the late royal developed such a strong connection with her fans.

“Diana was feeding an insatiable beat and that was the public. The public always feels a connection with public figures who they watch grow and evolve and we certainly watched Diana grow from this very shy young woman who was marrying the prince to being this global powerhouse superstar… We watched an incredible evolution over those seventeen years,” she said.

Meanwhile, the public’s fondness for Princess Diana has seemingly gone beyond all of the controversies she was involved in. For instance, Prince Charles was criticized for cheating on the Princess of Wales with Camilla. But it has also become known that Princess Diana did the same thing while she was still married to her ex-husband.

Princess Diana didn’t also encourage and support Prince Charles throughout their marriage. During a previous interview, Lady Pamela Hicks said that the late royal was actually unkind and quite spiteful to Prince Charles.

And since Prince Charles was the type of man who needed support, he also didn’t become a better person while he was married to Princess Diana. But it was only Prince Charles who was blamed for not dealing with his ex-wife.

In fact, the heir to the throne was accused of ignoring Princess Diana’s outbursts and mood swings for the simple reason that he doesn’t know how to deal with them. At the end of the day, the public was still more sympathetic towards Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom.
