“Megxit” was a term coined for the exit of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from the royal family, which they announced in January. But the Duke of Sussex isn’t happy about the misnomer.

According to the upcoming tell-all “Finding Freedom,” Prince Harry abhors “Megxit” because it gives off the notion that it was Markle who orchestrated the historic departure from the influential British clan, The Sun reported. It was promised that a large part of the book will detail the highly controversial decision of the Sussexes to turn their backs away from their senior royal roles.

“The reality is Harry drove that decision. The book will make that clear and explain why it had to happen. The truth is Harry had been unhappy for a long, long time,” an insider told the publication.

The source claimed that Prince Harry had always wanted to go to the direction they are now heading. Markle was supportive all throughout and had continuously asked her husband if it was really what he wanted.

Just days after the big announcement, people were easy to put the blame on Markle, who has been called a lot of names since joining the royal family. This made Prince Harry allegedly angry because “Megxit” wasn’t the former “Suits” star’s decision.

“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option,” Prince Harry previously said of his decision.

This sheds light anew on the decision of the couple to leave the royal family. The term “Megxit” has been casually thrown up in the air and months after their decision, Prince Harry and Markle remain haunted by the media despite being in Los Angeles.

After they left their royal posts, the family of three flew to Vancouver Island in Canada before jetting off to Los Angeles, California where they are temporarily staying at Tyler Perry’s mansion in an exclusive neighborhood. They have celebrated Archie’s first birthday and Mother’s Day in the abode.
