Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Unhappy But Still Projected Happy Image, Royal Biographer Says

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle projected an image of a happy couple, even though they were not.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are usually very tactile even in public. This gave the people the impression that they’re very much in love with each other and happy together.

However, based on Markle’s interview following their tour to South Africa, things weren’t perfect for the couple at the time. Both admitted that they struggled with the unwanted media attention and being first-time parents.

“It became very apparent from that documentary in Africa, that perhaps while she made it look easy, it obviously wasn't easy,” royal biographer Katie Nicholl told Nine.com.au.

“They projected a very happy image of themselves — Meghan and Harry — but scratch beneath the surface and all wasn't what it seems. They were both unhappy, Meghan particularly, there were big parts of her new life that she was finding hard to adjust to,” Nicholl added.

Many netizens noticed that Prince Harry and Markle looked unhappy in the ITV documentary. Even royal biographer Angela Levin had the same observation.

“I think he feels and looks incredibly miserable and unhappy,” Levin said.

“Meghan is unhappy too and it seems incredibly sad that they can’t seem to help each other at the moment.”

Prior to the interview, several noticed that Prince Harry’s disposition in life changed. He used to be very happy, but in some sightings during their visit to South Africa, eagled-eye fans felt that he looked sad.

One photo taken during their tour featured Markle wearing a hijab. The duchess was all smiles while her husband next to her looked unhappy.

“What a mistake Harry! Just look at his face,” one netizen commented.

“Thats one unhappy chappy on the right,” another online user commented with a laughing emoji.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced in January that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. They are currently living in a secluded place in Los Angeles.

According to reports, Prince Harry was feeling homesick because he has no friends in L.A. This reportedly led him to reconnect with his big brother Prince William, and now the two of them are already on speaking terms.
