Prince Harry Born Into An ‘Unhappy’ Marriage; Diana, Charles Happy With William

Prince Harry arrived amid Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s “unhappy marriage.”

There were reports claiming that Prince Harry triggered the rocky relationship of his parents. However, according to royal author Katie Nicholl, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s relationship was already not okay when they welcomed their second son.

“By the time Prince Harry was born in 1984, he was born into an unhappy marriage,” she said.

“I think Diana very much hoped that he would be the band-aid to keep the marriage together, but it wasn’t to be.”

Meanwhile, the couple reportedly enjoyed a happy marriage after welcoming Prince William. However, it didn’t last long.

“There was a period, and I suppose it was after William was born when they were very happy,” Ingrid Seward said. “But it just didn’t last for very long.”

According to Andrew Morton’s biography “Diana: Her True Story,” the birth of Prince Harry triggered the Prince and Princess of Wales’ rocky marriage. Prince Charles wasn’t happy about welcoming a boy and wanted a girl for his second child.

Princess Diana was hurt when she learned that Prince Charles was “so disappointed” after having another son. She told the biographer that “something inside me closed off” and shortly after that their marriage broke down.

In Channel 5’s documentary “The Royal Family at War,” the royal experts revisited Prince Charles’ reaction after seeing Prince Harry for the first time. The People’s Princess told her butler Paul Burrell that she cried herself to sleep because Prince Charles came into the room and commented on Prince Harry’s “red hair.” She reasoned out that it was the “Spencer gene.” Then Prince Charles reportedly just said, “At least I’ve got my heir and spare.” After that, he left and went to the theatre.

There are rumors that Prince Harry is Princess Diana’s son with James Hewitt because both men have red hair. Hewitt already denied the rumors saying that the Duke of Sussex was already a toddler when he saw him.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s protection officer Ken Wharfe revealed in his book “Diana: Closely Guarded Secret” how the princess felt about the rumors. According to him, the gossip linking Prince Harry to Hewitt because of their red hair angered Princess Diana.
