Prince Harry Didn’t Marry Meghan Markle Due To Similarities With Diana, Netizens Say

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have only been married for a year, but they have already faced tons of criticisms.

On the online forum site Quora, royal fans discussed the possible reasons why the Duke of Sussex suddenly wed the Duchess of Sussex when they’ve only been dating for less than a year.

One of them asked whether or not Prince Harry’s sudden decision had something to do with Markle’s similarities with Princess Diana. But the majority of the other royal fans said that it is highly unlikely that Prince Harry wed Markle because she reminded him of his late mother.

Gillian Schifree said that she can’t think of two women who are more different from each other than Princess Diana and Markle.

“Diana was an unwanted 3^rd daughter of an Earl whose mother abandoned her. Meghan was born into a fairly normal environment with a mother she is exceptionally close to… Diana was full of insecurities and Meghan seems to be a very ‘together’ person, comfortable in her own skin,” she said.

Eileen Wood, a Republican since 1977, said that in no way could Markle be similar to Princess Diana. It is also impossible for Markle to remind the public and even Prince Harry of his late mother.

Shelley Kesselman, a former student at the Episcopal Divinity School, said that Markle and Princess Diana’s appearance, personalities, intellect, and more couldn’t be more different from each other.

“Really, the Diana cult that seems to think she lives on in anything her sons do is getting tiresome. Let the boys move on, let their wives be themselves, and let Diana rest in peace… It’s been more than 20 years… It’s time to let go,” she said.

Princess Diana passed away following a fatal car crash in Paris on Aug. 31, 1997. And as such, Prince Harry never had the chance to introduce his mom to his wife in person.
