  • Several photos of Prince Charles taking Prince Harry on bike rides when he was a child have resurfaced
  • This comes after Prince Harry told Oprah Winfrey he was "never was able" to go on bike rides when he was young
  • The duke made similar comments when he appeared on Dax Shepard's podcast last week

Prince Harry had been snapped enjoying bike rides with his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William when he was a child, contrary to the Duke of Sussex's recent claims, a report has said.

In previous interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast, Prince Harry reflected on the things he can now do with his son Archie after he and his wife Meghan Markle moved to California. He said he's been enjoying bike rides with their son and that this was something he hadn't been able to do during his own childhood.

However, several photos showed Prince Charles taking Prince Harry on bike rides when he was much younger. One photo from 1988 obtained by News.com.au showed Prince Charles in a kilt riding a bike around Queen Elizabeth's Scotland estate Balmoral with 4-year-old Prince Harry behind him in a cart attached to the bike.

In 1989, Prince Harry posed for photos on his bike alongside his family during a getaway to the Isles of Scilly. Prince Charles, Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry were all smiles while posing with their bikes.

In 1990, Prince Charles was photographed cycling with a young Prince Harry sitting on a companion bike seat. Prince William rode his own bike as the trio circled around the Sandringham estate.

But the Duke of Sussex was quoted by People as saying to Winfrey in March, “The highlight for me is sticking [Archie] on the back of the bicycle in his little baby seat and taking him on bike rides is something which I never was able to do when I was young. I can see him on the back, and he's got his arms out, chatting: 'Palm tree?' House?'”

Prince Harry shared the same recollection last week when he talked about "feeling a little bit more free" in the U.S. compared to the U.K.

"Living here now I can actually lift my head and I feel different, my shoulders have dropped, so have hers, you can walk around feeling a little bit more free, I can take Archie on the back of my bicycle, I would never have had the chance to do that," he was quoted by the BBC as saying in his interview with Shepard.

This comes after journalist Angela Levin, author of "Harry: A Biography of a Prince," also refuted the duke's claim during his podcast interview that it was his wife who convinced him to seek therapy.

The royal biographer alleged that when she interviewed him for her book years ago, Prince Harry told her Markle had nothing to do with his decision to seek help for his mental health and that Prince William was the one who urged him to do so.

"There's a potential nonsense there. He said Meghan told him to go and get help," Levin said when she appeared on "Good Morning Britain" following Prince Harry's podcast interview. "But when I interviewed at length in Kensington Palace in 2017, I asked him if he was going because Meghan suggested it. I asked if she had persuaded him. He said, 'Absolutely not, she's had nothing to do with it, it was William.'"
