Prince Harry ‘Envied’ Prince William, Kate Middleton Before Meghan Markle, Expert Says

Prince Harry was envious of Prince William and Kate Middleton before he met Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry was very close to his brother and sister-in-law. Before Markle joined the picture, the Duke of Sussex was always with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in various engagements, and they looked happy together, earning them the moniker “the royal trio.” However, things changed when he married the former “Suits” star.

According to Paul Burrell, Prince Harry was envious of Prince William and Middleton before he met his wife. He had been feeling that way for a long time because he wanted the type of relationship the two share.

“I think for a long time Harry has looked at his brother and envied him and thought ‘I’d like some of that, I’d like a nice family around me,” Paul Burrell said on Yahoo’s “The Royal Box.”

“And now he has it, so it’s the beginning of the future for Harry,” Burrell added.

Prior to Markle, Prince Harry had a hard time finding a royal bride. He dated Chelsy Davy for seven years, but their relationship didn’t last. He also went out with Cressida Bonas for four years, but just like Chelsy, she broke up with him.

Prince William and Middleton met at the university and were dating for almost a decade before they finally tied the knot. Although their relationship wasn’t smooth sailing, after enduring two major breakups, they realized that they couldn’t live without each other.

According to Jessica Jayne’s book “The Duchess of Cambridge: How Kate Middleton Became A Future Queen,” Prince Harry was inspired by his brother and sister-in-law’s romance. During their wedding, he reportedly called his big brother “the dude” and told everyone how much he “loved Kate like a sister” and how their almost a decade-long romance “inspired him.”

Unfortunately, while Prince Harry was so in love during the event, his then-girlfriend Chelsy didn’t feel the same way. Chelsy was also present at the royal wedding and after witnessing the celebration she realized that she doesn’t want the life of a royal. She felt that she couldn’t make the same sacrifices Middleton did for Prince William.
