“After Diana died, the boys both chose a keepsake from Kensington Palace when they moved to Charles’ rooms in St James’s Palace,” a source told Daily Star (via Express) “William picked his mum’s Cartier watch, and Harry picked her sapphire and diamond engagement ring. But they had an agreement that whoever got engaged first would have Diana’s ring – and of course, that was William and Kate.”
Meanwhile, rumors are rife that Harry will be proposing to his girlfriend, Meghan Markle, soon. The couple was last spotted at the airport tarmac heading to Africa for the “Suits” star’s 36th birthday. Their destination fueled the speculations about their engagement as the continent is a popular “couple holiday destination.” In fact, it was where William proposed to Middleton in 2010.
The latest update about Harry and Markle’s trip in Africa revealed that the prince would treat his love to a romantic water safari. The highlight of the cruise would be a houseboat safari that costs £1,000 per night. There, they will watch hippos and crocodiles.
“There are 6,000 square miles of water to explore. Sometimes you can go for days without seeing another boat or another tourist. The boat will have a private cabin, or a bed can be made up on the deck if they decided to sleep out under the stars, which he has done before. They have gone in the middle of the best season to see game,” the source told Mirror. “Harry wants to show her where his heart really is — and it is Africa.”
Harry has an affinity towards Africa. According to him, he was just 12 when his father Prince Charles decided to take him and William to the continent to get away after their mom’s tragic death. Since then, he’s been flying back and forth to the place. “This is where I feel more like myself than anywhere else in the world. I have this intense sense of complete relaxation and normality here,” he said (via Express).
