Prince Harry has struggled a lot throughout his lifetime. But royal experts have pointed out that he lost his way twice before meeting Meghan Markle.

On the podcast “Pod Save the Queen,” Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer said that the Duke of Sussex looked very disturbed during his recent interview with ITV. The royal expert went on to say that Markle’s husband has lost his way in the last few years ever since he returned from Afghanistan.

“He got very bored as an Apache helicopter pilot based in Suffolk – I think a lot of the other pilots were married with young families. Just living in rural Suffolk wasn’t the thing for him. Then he created the Invictus Games, which I think is his greatest triumph, and he should be really proud of doing that. But then he seemed to lose his way again,” he said.

While Prince Harry was in the Army, his bosses didn’t have any idea where he was. He was always absent, and if he was at work, no one would exactly where he is. Palmer went on to say that it seems Prince Harry went through an early midlife crisis, and his personality changed over the years.

During his royal engagements, the Duke of Sussex is no longer the fun and funny personality that the press has grown to love. These days, the new dad just watches and gives lectures to the younger generation.

Podcast host Ann Gripper asked Palmer if he thinks that this is Prince Harry’s way of trying to be more grown-up since he’s now in his 30s, and he said yes. He also said that Prince William underwent the same transformation when he hit his 30s. But despite the similarity between the royal siblings, Palmer said that Prince Harry lost his way.

“When William was getting a lot of stick for being work-shy, when he was doing a part-time job as an Air Ambulance pilot, I think Harry escaped a lot of criticism around that time even though he wasn’t doing much more than William,” Palmer explained.
