They have been the subject of feud rumors for months now, which is shedding new light on comments that Prince Harry made about Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton back when he and his wife gave their first-ever joint interview following their engagement announcement.

According to Express UK, Prince Harry’s comments about his sister-in-law's relationship with his then-fiancée can now be seen as surprising, considering the two women have since been marked as being in a feud, allegedly started when Markle left Middleton “in tears” during a bridesmaid dress fitting for Princess Charlotte ahead of last year’s royal wedding.

During the engagement interview, Prince Harry discussed having Meghan meet his family for the first time, and the couple singled out Middleton for being “amazing” towards her.

“William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine. With them being our neighbors, we managed to get together quite a few times now,” he said at the time. “Catherine has been absolutely amazing.”

“She has been wonderful,” Markle added.

That interview seems to be the opposite of what reports later claimed when news of the alleged feud broke out, especially as reports surfaced that Harry and Prince William were actually the ones who were feuding because Harry felt his brother wasn’t being very welcoming to Markle as she slowly integrated into the family.

Of course, rumors of a feud have since settled down, especially after Middleton and Markle were photographed exchanging kisses on the cheek with one another as they attended Commonwealth Day services earlier this week. Since then, it’s been reported the feud is over and Kate wants to make sure they present a united front.

“They might not have a huge amount in common but Kate has no issue with Meghan. She wants them to get along, not just for Harry’s sake but because two royal sisters-in-law at loggerheads wouldn’t be good, and Kate knows that,” a source told Vanity Fair. “For Kate, it’s about keeping their relationship professional and putting on a show of togetherness.”
