Prince Harry, Meghan Markle To Name Their Baby This, Expert Says
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are rumored to have chosen the name of their baby.
Victoria Arbiter, a royal expert, is convinced that Markle and Prince Harry’s baby girl would be named Elizabeth and Diana. If the royal couple will have a baby boy, they will name him Charles and Philip.
In the article she wrote for 9 Honey, Arbiter said, “Naming a baby is a tricky business for parents the world over. There’s enormous pressure in choosing a moniker that will stand the test of time… One has to consider how it might be shortened or whether it might mean something risqué in urban slang.”
According to Arbiter, the task of naming a royal baby becomes worse for members of the royal family. This is because they need to consider the baby’s future role and its place in history. Royal babies who hold important titles need to be given names that offer a sense of stability and continuity.
Other contenders for baby girl names include Alexandra, which is Queen Elizabeth II’s middle name, and Alexandrina, which was the first name given to Queen Victoria.
Alice is another contender for Markle and Prince Harry’s baby name. Alice is the name of Queen Victoria’s second daughter, who is also a patron of women’s causes.
Rose may also be part of Markle and Prince Harry’s choices for baby girls’ names because this is the middle name of Princess Margaret. Eleanor is also now part of the list since she was one of the most powerful figures in the 12th century as the Queen of France and England.
Alexander, Albert, and Arthur are also at the top of the list when it comes to baby boy names.
“It will also be a name for the history books as the royal family prepares to welcome its first child of mixed-race heritage. For what it’s worth, I’m going with a girl… Alice and Alexandra might be the odds favorites, but Lady Rose Elizabeth Diana works for me,” Arbiter said.
